Where Were You Last Week?
You may have noticed an absence of emails from us last week. We’ve gotten some questions about where we were and what we were doing.
Initially, I would use answers like, “Pastor’s retreat” or “Iron sharpening iron.” And while those answers are all true, they don’t tell the whole story of our journey.
And in my prayer time at the end of the week, it finally hit me - we traveled to the mountaintop to seek the presence of the Lord.
Much like we see in Scripture, we purposefully moved to a place full of majesty so that we can be in His presence. That was the entire outcome, that was the goal, that was it.
As leaders, I don’t think we give ourselves permission to “just be.” While I understand good stewardship of resources, what I want to suggest to you this morning is that nothing is more important than intentional time in His presence.
And while it doesn’t have to be a physical mountaintop, creating a rhythm of intentionally seeking His presence might just change everything in your ministry.
We cannot lead people to a relationship with the Lord that we ourselves do not understand or pursue.
